Pipeline leak in Northern Alberta

CBC is reporting that "The Alberta Energy Regulator is reporting that a pipeline leaked about 100,000 litres of oil and 190,000 litres of salty produced water near Zama City in the far northwest corner of the province. Zama City is 900 kilometres northwest of Edmonton."

April 9th Global reported that "The Alberta Energy Regulator says the province’s Orphan Well Association (OWA) will look after an apparent leak at an oil and gas handling facility owned by Insch Commodity Ltd. It says it made the decision to call in the OWA because the Warburg, Alta.-based company had not started cleaning up a spill on the site west of Edmonton as required under an order issued last week. All licences held by the oil and gas producer were suspended after no one answered its 1-800 emergency phone line following reports of the spill at the facility."

Meanwhile back on the ranch, Justin Trudeau was in France calling on the signatories of the 2015 Paris climate accord to ensure the landmark deal became a reality. "It's up to us to make this accord in principle a reality," Trudeau said in a speech that earned several standing ovations. "Our two countries are united in their ambitions for fighting climate change, even as we pursue sustainable growth for our economies," Trudeau said on the last day of his two-day visit to France. So the fallen rock star earns the hypocrite of the year award for saying one thing and doing the other by cramming the oil pipeline through BC without negotiating a fair deal.

"In 2010 an Enbridge pipeline burst spilling over 1 million gallons of Canadian crude oil into the Kalamazoo river. It was the largest inland oil pipeline spill in US history. Even the environmental protection agency has all but admitted that up to 168 thousand gallons of the oil will remain in the Kalamazoo river indefinitely."

Police seize $70,000 in cash

The Peace Arch News is reporting that "More than $ 70,000 in cash and cocaine was seized and arrests made in a what police are calling a dial-a-dope operation operating out of the Williams Lake area. Seven people from Williams Lake and an individual from Port Coquitlam were arrested after a two-month long investigation led by the Williams Lake General Investigation Section and Crime Reduction Unit along with specialized support sections."

No word on how much cocaine was seized but police are pretty excited about seizing $70,000 in cash. Makes ya kind of wonder what their real priorities are. They are watching the drug trafficking out of Shakerz supplying the Surrey strip and are providing police protection for the drug dealers there. Then they turn around an seize cash when they can without disrupting street level drug trafficking. Speaking of conflicted, when is Len Peltier going to get charged?

Mobility pricing is a farce

Once again we receive more evidence that the mayor's glutton council needs to be disbanded. All they do is think up ways to raise taxes and spend more money. The NDP were elected in BC on a promise to remove bridge tolls which they did. To toll regular roads after that would be an obscene act of fraud. Yet the Mayor's glutton's council keeps spending more tax dollars on bogus reports rationalizing trying to tax us every time we move. Mobility rights are entrenched in the Canadian Charter of Rights. Get over it. Tolling roads and bridges that are already paid for is just another tax grab. Yet the Corporate Media circus keeps pushing it. Post Media News has become a cheap tabloid of propaganda trying to mold public opinion within corporate interests.

Nerve Agent Used In Salisbury Was Not Russian

Your News Wire is reporting that "The substance used on Sergei Skripal in Salisbury was a nerve agent called BZ, according to the results of an independent study by a Swiss lab that throws the “official narrative” pushed by the United Kingdom government into serious doubt. BZ was never produced in Russia, but was in service in the US and UK."

"The United Kingdom has accused Moscow of poisoning ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal in the UK town of Salisbury with what British experts claimed was an A234 nerve agent, which had allegedly been produced in the Soviet Union. However the independent results of the tests by the Swiss laboratory have disproved the UK government allegations." RT is confirming the story.

Manitoba Hells Angels president cries like a girl

CBC is reporting that Dale Kelland, the president of the Manitoba Nomads of the Hells Angels is complaining about the no gang colours rule in Manitoba businesses. Excuse me while I gag. Dale Kelland, also known as Dale Donavan or Deli was the president of the Winnipeg Hells Angels when he was sentenced to 8 and 1/2 years in prison for cocaine trafficking.

Deli was president when they were all busted in that huge drug ring where Famous Amos was caught on video cutting crack cocaine for the Winnipeg Hells Angels. Not only were the Zig Zag crew selling crack for the Winnipeg Hells Angels, but they were also paying the club protection money to protect them from rival drug dealers.

Before Dale Donovan, the former local chapter president, Ernie Dew, was sentenced to 13-years for drug trafficking. After Dale Donovan the next local president, Dale Sweeney was sentenced to 11 years for cocaine trafficking. With that much jurisprudence the Popo should seize their clubhouse. All that chapter did was sell drugs. Instead of living the dream they were out there pimping it. Now he's crying because they are enforcing bar watch and are banning gang colours from local businesses. That's what they call a natural consequence of criminal activity.

Roslyn Cassells runs for Surrey City Council

Roslyn Cassells has announced that she is running for a seat on Surrey's City Council. Now this is someone I can endorse. Roslyn Cassels was the first elected Green in Canada. She was elected to the Vancouver Park Board in 1999 defeating Colin Metcalfe from the NPA.

Roslyn is a front line activist with solid organizational skills. She has a brain who supports democracy and public accountability. Right now she is raising awareness about Btk Spraying in Surrey for Gypsy moths. I had no idea. I just thought they had those harmless moth traps. Btk Spraying is a whole other ball game. We need someone like her on council.

Steve Pettigrew in contrast is a flaming idiot I cannot support. Any organization he is invoked with has no credibility whatsoever. Aside from being a spineless jellyfish, the guy is a brain dead eccentric. He wants to be mayor. Good luck with that. You go Steve. Far, far away.

Rena Gill from Doug McCallum's Safe Surrey slate is also rock solid and has my vote if she runs.

Let's hope Thor returns and runs for Mayor.

Vancouver police officer detained in Cuba for allegedly assaulting 17-year-old girl

Global is reporting that "Two Vancouver-area police officers are being detained in Cuba for a criminal investigation involving a 17-year-old girl. Global News has learned that the teen has complained that one of the vacationing officers, a member of the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), assaulted her near Veradero. He and his friend, a Port Moody officer, were detained and eventually released from jail. The Port Moody officer is allegedly a material witness. Both the VPD and Port Moody officers have had their passports seized and they can't leave the country. The VPD has sent an officer to investigate."

Former Vancouver police officer pleads guilty to sexual exploitation

CTV reported that "A former Vancouver police officer who worked with sex trafficking victims has pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation in a Surrey courtroom Wednesday. Constable James Albert Stanley Fisher plead guilty to two counts of breach of trust and one count of sexual exploitation for incidents alleged to have occurred between August and December 2015. Police Chief Adam Palmer told CTV News in 2016 that the alleged incidents involved a minor and an adult."

Israel supports the Syrian Fraud

They say the first casualty of war is the truth. We saw it in Iran, we saw it in Libya, we saw it in Afghanistan and we are now seeing it in Syria. Recently Israel just launched an air strike in Syria after another suspicions chemical attack. The timing of this insane attack is absurd.

Assad has basically won. Why would he use chemical weapons on the last remaining outpost of rebels knowing full well that would enrage the international community? The answer is simple, he didn't. September 2013 Reuters reported that the CIA fabricated evidence to lure the US into war with Syria. February it was announced that since the Assad regime has gained the upper hand in the war, Israel started arming 7 different rebel groups. That was before the chemical attack.

This is about Humanity

Donald Trump has the audacity to say "This is about Humanity" as the United States prepares a reaction to the CIA's repeated use of chemical weapons in Syria to draw in US involvement. Donald Trump uttering those words is the most hypocritical statement uttered by mankind.

Since when did Donald Trump start worrying about humanity? The United States worried about humanity when they let thousands of Haitian refugees into the country after their devastating earthquake. Donald Trump killed humanity when he kicked them out and sent them in droves to Quebec which filled the Olympic stadium with refugees from America. He sure didn't care about humanity then and he sure hasn't cared about the humanitarian crisis he has created at home.

The best thing we can do for Syria is pull the CIA out and let this war come to an end. Prolonging conflict and creating thousands of refugees by displacing civilians then denying them entry into the United States just because we don't like the fact that Assad is friends with Russia is shameful.

If you don't want to let refugees into the United States, then stop creating them.

Kinder Morgan Pipeline Conflict - Solved

Update: Foshan Yoshida Casting Material Co., Ltd is a Chinese based company that sells petroleum coke. For real. The same stuff that caused a toxic cloud in Detroit. The same stuff they just kicked out of Chicago. It is the byproduct from refining Alberta Tar sands sludge. Now a company in China is trying to sell it. Who knows, maybe they'll start putting it in toothpaste.

All joking aside, if someone could find a use for petroleum coke it would save the planet and save our economy. I don't see why they can't grind it up and put it in concrete. It's just a rock for god's sake it's not radioactive. If you ground it up into a powder it would change the colour of the concrete and make it darker. The next generation for concrete towers. Super concrete :)

CBC is reporting that "Kinder Morgan's $6.8-billion, 1,150-kilometre Trans Mountain pipeline will move a mix of oil products from Edmonton to a terminal in Burnaby, B.C., near Vancouver, where it will be exported to markets in Asia." Just to be clear, twinning the existing pipeline for tar sands oil is not for domestic consumption. Which reaffirms that the second recent spike in the price of gas at the pumps in Vancouver is fraudulent. This is why we need to nationalize our oil. The foreign ownership of our oil is committing fraud and extortion with our money.

China is banning fossil fuel cars. That makes the urgency of the second pipeline to Vancouver questionable. People say if we don't approve the second pipeline they'll just send the tar sands oil to be refined in Texas. Why would that be a bad thing? That just simply means the second pipeline to Vancouver is not needed. The Keystone pipeline expansion has beeen approved.

The thing I don't like is arrogance and entitlement. We are being competently f*cked over by the oil monopoly at the pumps and that needs to be addressed. China and the US pay less for our oil than we do. Norway has a much better model.

Update: Kinder Morgan suspending non-essential activities for the Trans Mountain pipeline

Natural gas, however, is worth supporting. It is much cleaner than coal.

New Update: The Premier of Alberta says the Provincial government will build the pipeline if Kinder Morgan pulls out and the opposition agrees. That's a great idea. It's a step towards nationalization so it is. The Provincial government can form it's own oil company and the profits from that company can go to tax revenue. Now that is good business. Just like Norway.

However, the arrogance, entitlement and the extortion needs to come to an end. John Horgan has a valid point. He states "I would prefer she invest in refining capacity." Refining the tar sands crude is the concern that still needs to be addresses.

Kinder Morgan Pipeline Conflict - Solved

Alberta has gone about this deal in the completely wrong way. Trade agreements are built upon mutual trust. If you want to do business with someone first you have to build a relationship of trust. Then you have to negotiate and offer them something they want. When they express a legitimate concern you help to resolve that concern. You don't throw a temper tantrum making absurd demands of entitlement filled with threats and extortion.

John Hogan is not the villain here. Rachel Notley is. Alberta tar sands has just been kicked out of Chicago and Detroit because of the public protests over the heath hazards from the mountains of petroleum coke that is a byproduct of refining the tar sands crude. John Horgan expressed a simple concern about the volume of crude coming into BC and Rachel Notley freaked saying Alberta was boycotting BC wine. That's pretty bad people skills. All she had to do was reassure him they would take his concerns seriously and resolve them. She did the exact opposite and showed us why not having a proper agreement in place is a bad idea.

If you want to build something through our backyard you have to have our permission. If you don't have our permission you can't build anything in our back yard. It really is that simple. Previously we were told that if there is a rupture in the pipeline and oil spills into BC's fresh water, Alberta will not pay to clean it up. That's not very nice. Why would we ever agree to something like that?

If you want to build a pipeline through our back yard you have to pay the piper and obtain our permission. Instead of obtaining our permission, Rachel Notley ran to Ottawa demanding Ottawa forces the pipeline through without our permission without resolving any of our concerns. That is straight up Communism. No wonder China is taking over the Alberta Tar sands.

Another flaming concern is they jacked up the price of gas at the pump in Vancouver twice just to extort us. That has shown us why we cannot agree to this pipeline without an trade agreement that protects consumers in British Columbia from that kind of extortion in the future.

If you want to build this pipeline you have to return to the negotiating table and negotiate a trade agreement. To earn back our broken trust you have to show us an act of good faith. You have to take back the last two unwarranted price jumps at the pump and guarantee a good price for our gas. We are not going to agree to anything until we get that term written down on paper.

You had my support but your childish temper tantrum lost it. Now you must earn back our trust by showing us some good faith as opposed to threats, demands and extortion. If you refuse to do that the deal is dead in the water. If you do that, the deal still has a chance but your childish tantrums have to end and you have to negotiate a trade agreement that resolves our concerns.

No Justice, No Peace.

Alberta tar sands pipelines already exist to Chicago and Detroit.

Piles of tar-sands waste in Chicago are pissing people off

Koch-owned tar sands waste piles up in Chicago after Detroit cloud

"The substance made headlines earlier this year when a pet-coke pile that was three stories high and one block long created an ominous black cloud that floated over Detroit, Michigan. Citizens in nearby Windsor complained that they experienced respiratory problems and other ailments when the pet-coke infiltrated their water supply and floated through open windows. The byproduct, which is approximately 90 percent carbon, has started creating similar problems along the Calumet River, which runs from South Chicago to Gary, Indiana."
